I began teaching in 2008, and right from the first day I was fortunate to be given ICT tools to play with in my classroom. I taught Maths at Linwood College in Christchurch, NZ from 2008 until the end of 2011, and when I started the school had just recently installed 2Touch interactive whiteboards in each Maths classroom.

So began my ICT journey… I have learnt a lot along the way, and I want to share that journey with you. For two reasons: firstly, because I love to help colleagues build their skills and confidence with using ICT, and secondly, because I want you to reciprocate so that I can learn from your ICT journeys! I do not claim to be an expert… the more I learn the more I realise I don’t know yet! So please post constructive comments and tips for me.

In 2012 I moved to Middleton Grange School. I also started studying part-time towards a Post-Graduate Diploma in Education (endorsed with e-Learning) at University of Canterbury, so that I could get some best practice into my teaching. I finished the P.G.Dip.(Ed) in 2015, and it will eventually lead to a Masters in Education.

I’m now the e-Learning Coordinator for the school, and I administer the school’s Moodle site (which we’ve branded “eLearn”).

This blog is about my ICT journey – the things I learn, the change in mindset, and the tools and tricks I pick up along the way, both on-the-job and through my study.
